Discussion topic for Stats, Offense/Defense & Elements Effects Explained

Like Ragnarok Online, Tree of Savior will feature stats, offense/defense and elemental effects tables. We have translated all of the information. With this table, we can compare which element is more effective vs which and what types of attack is more effective on which monster.

I'll agree with the attribute term for "Strength". However, as "Stamina' is being used for the character running stamina. I'll suggest the term "Constitution" used by "DAMAB.net Gaming Channel". Big Grin

Constitution definition from google
A person's physical state with regard to vitality, health, and strength.
"pregnancy had weakened her constitution"
synonyms: health, physical condition, fettle;
physique
"she has the constitution of an ox"

a person's mental or psychological makeup.

I am pleased there are so many different attributes each monster and player can have.  They aren't very complicated, and they allow many ways for equipment and skills to be unique and useful.

The weaknesses and resistances remind me of RO's, except without elemental property ranks (ie. Earth 1, Earth 2, Earth 3, etc. each one having more extreme weaknesses and resistances).  I really dig the different physical damage and armor types.  I've played games with slash/pierce/bash before (namely Etrian Odyssey) and they add a lot of strategic variety.  Plus that Fluid (Ghost?) armor type!  I want to use that!

I agree 'Stamina' is better used for running endurance.  'Constitution' is a better word to use, but I find it awkward to say.  I would prefer to use 'Vitality'.

Some of RO's attributes are actually unnecessary and often not considered important in the actual gameplay. For example, the rank of the element. In the end-game, particularly, all we used to care about is one player's armor's element against another element regardless of the ranking of the element.

If I may make a polite comparison,

These stuffs remind me a lot of RO's; yet, IMC has modified the mechanic. 1 thing can be the reason: there is no unique card system in this game. That feature belongs to RO alone and shall not be copied. The unique card in RO used to bring a unique modifier; in TOS, IMC has cleverly thought a way to make another sophisticated mechanic without using unique modifier: giving more fixed modifier, for example, that armor vs. attack type. I guess IMC is taking the very quintessence of RO and polish it into something fresh and, more importantly, more effective.

However, it does not mean that the unrevealed crafting or gem/magical amulet system cannot bring unique modifier--not mentioning the unrevealed skill and the function of bosses' cards.

This game is really promising.

I believe the word "Stamina" is the official translation. However I do agree with you that constitution is definitely the right word to use in this case.

But for now we will go with Stamina until it is officially changed.

I like how they balanced the magic users with the physical users using the elemental system.

Call me retarded, but are arrows considered stabbing or striking?

It's pretty interesting that they tried to make all classes be able to fight equitably. I fear that it might kill a bit the party system and that people will rather play alone.
Also that limit a bit the margin they have for differenciating the classes and having classes better for some stuff.

No, man. Don't worry, level 1-100 can be considered level 1-50 in RO. It won't be a problem to solo level until level 50.

I guess after then, we will all need each other, won't we? Wink
